Radisson Sas Plaza Hotel is situated in the heart of Helsinki and the city's business, shopping and entertainment centres.

The foundation stone of the building was laid in 1917 and today various parts of it are protected by the Helsinki City Museum, including some beautiful painted glass windows.

The hotel is an exciting mix of the old and new, with 3 atriums and an inner court yard. It is one of the most outstanding properties in Helsinki, which retains a truly traditional feel, with modern amenities.There is also a modernized new annex with more rooms adjoining the hotel.
LOCATION

Radisson Sas Plaza Hotel is situated in the heart of Helsinki and the city`s business, shopping and entertainment centres. It is next to the Finnish National Theatre and central railway station. Yet it retains a peaceful feel as the entrance is down a quieter side street with little traffic.

* When entering the Paakonttori Restaurant you are impressed by its appearance; the skylight high above and the ionic columns create a wonderful setting to have dinner. The restaurant's menu boasts modern brasserie dishes and today's flavours.

"A truly wonderful hotel."
Helsinki was a surprise--I had expected to find a place worth no more than a day at best (after reading several guidebooks), but I could have stayed longer. The downtown area is a real pleasure to wander, the food was superlative and there was plenty to do in the area. The Radisson SAS Plaza is very well-located a short block from the railway station, and three blocks from the Esplanade, and is one block from the tram line. The building has been renovated into a very modern hotel, with really nice rooms with all the amenities. The breakfast buffet was better than most I found at Radisson hotels in Scandinavia, and the price for the room was outstanding. Would definitely come back.

"Great Location"
I was travelling alone but the welcome was friendly and the atmosphere unintimidating. The Art Deco history was overplayed as the interior is largely standard 4* hotel but overall a pleasant place to stay.
